The Story

I have spent my entire business life searching for ways to get the word out. Long before digital marketing, social media, and online platforms, I understood one simple truth — if people don't know you exist, nothing else matters.

I was drawn to the best — Robb Report, DuPont Registry, Forbes, Architectural Digest, Inc., Florida Design. These weren't just magazines. They were worlds representing success, aspiration, and the highest level of presentation.

Over the past 45 years, I have advertised in more than 200 publications. I learned what worked, what didn't, and more importantly, how influence is built through consistency, design, and placement. I wasn't an outsider looking in — I was part of that world.

For over 20 years, I have been building factories in China. My trips were never routine. What stood out to me wasn't just the scale — it was the mindset. The people, the energy, the willingness to solve problems. There was no word for "no." There was always a way, always a solution, always a path forward.

"Before COVID, Chinese consumers accounted for over 32% of global luxury spending — the largest share in the world. That number stopped me."

I began researching where and how these consumers were being reached outside of China. What I found was something no one seemed to be talking about — there were virtually no true Mandarin luxury lifestyle publications produced outside of China.

The world's most powerful luxury brands — Hermès, Chanel, Rolex, Rolls-Royce, Mercedes-Benz, Cartier — were all trying to reach these same customers. But there was no direct, dedicated platform connecting them internationally in Mandarin. It was a gap hiding in plain sight.

"If there was no platform, then the opportunity wasn't to compete — it was to create."

That thinking led to the creation of Jewel Luxury Lifestyles — a 320-page, full-color publication designed at the highest level. Not as a startup magazine, but as a world-class platform from day one. Distributed across 52 countries, built to stand alongside the best publications in the world — not below them.

This wasn't just about printing pages. It was about creating a bridge — between global luxury brands and their most important customers. Between Western design and Eastern readership. A bridge that simply didn't exist before.
